S.Advances in Bioceramics
Bioceramics are a large class of biocompatible ceramic materials specially designed and used for biomedical applications, including repairing and reconstructing diseased or damaged parts of the body, tissue engineering, and targeted drug delivery. Significant advances in bioceramics have been achieved from the 1st generation of bioinert ceramics (zirconia and alumina) and the 2nd generation of biodegradable while bioactive ceramics (hydroxyapatite ceramics) toward the 3rd generation of bioactive ceramics with enhanced regenerative performance. Especially, the degradability allows the successful release of carriers at specific sight to trigger the biological reactions for special applications. The advantages of advanced bioceramic materials in biomedical applications have been widely appreciated, especially in terms of their unique biocompatibility and high performance. The aim of this symposium is to provide an initiative platform for researchers, engineers, clinicians, and students from around the globe to share their scientific findings and applications in the field of bioceramics. The plenary lectures from renowned scientists will bring innovative ideas and strategic expansion for next generation of bioceramics and related industrial applications. The conference will also offer dynamic opportunities for young researchers/students to encourage the development in this informative podium.
