Topic: High-performance ceramic thin films and coatings are energetic and dynamic in the field of modern high-tech and have a wide range of applications in all areas of national economy. Recent progress in development and application of ceramic films and coatings has significantly improved the performance of structural and functional components or enable new multifunctionalities. This symposium provides a platform for exchange of experimental and theoretical researches concerning but not only on the fields such as raw materials for advanced ceramic coatings, thermal and environmental barrier coatings, ceramic coatings for extreme/harsh environments (e.g.protection against oxidation, corrosion, erosion, and wear), multifunctional and smart film systems, advanced computation and evaluation methods for ceramic films and coatings, as well as the novel synthesis and processing, structural characterization and performance evaluation technology. The focus is on the investigation of the relationship among process, structure, property and performance of the advanced ceramic films and coatings.
